Dropped shaped semi precious stone black Tourmaline in a optically clear Quartz designer cabochon 39 mm by 4 mm to 17 mm and 4 mm thick.
These cabochons have some natural surface flaws from the black tourmaline needles emerging, and this one is flat on one side-slightly faceted or beveled on the other (see pictures).
Tourmaline Quartz, a semi-precious stone also known as Tourmalined Quartz or Tourmalinated Quartz, is a variety of Quartz that can be anywhere from opaque milky white to optically transparent or clear, with naturally occurring fine needle-like inclusions of Black Tourmaline.
Though found all over the world, most Tourmalinated Quartz, and our lapidary cabochon material, is mined in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
