Oval shaped purple semiprecious gemstone Tiffany Stone designer cabochon 40 mm by 19.5 mm and 7.5 mm thick.
This lovely stone cabochon is backed with a thin layer of black agate for stability.
This unique purple semi precious stone cabochon material is known as Tiffany Stone. It is also called Bertrandite and is actually an opalized Fluorite, or an Opalite.
It is found in only one place in the world, at the Brush Wellman Beryllium Mine near Delta, in Western Utah.
Tiffany Stone designer cabochons have a hardness of 5-6, but as with all Opalites, it can have healed fracture lines.
