Large ladder shaped semi precious white gemstone Howlite designer cabochon 51 mm by 22 mm wide at the top and 29 mm wide at the bottom and 5 mm thick.
Howlite is a white semi precious gemstone material with grayish black veining, that makes for lovely designer cabochons.
Our Howlite is from Tick Canyon in Los Angeles County, California.
Howlite is found in massive "cauliflower" shaped nodule and is named for its discoverer Henry How (a Nova Scotia geologist).
Howlite cabochons are sometimes sold as White Turquoise or White Buffalo. Some times it is dyed blue and sold as Turquoise.
Howlite is fairly soft, about a 3.5. These designer cabochons take a great polish and look like porcelain.
Metaphysical Properties: Howlite is said to decrease selfishness, pain, and rudeness by increasing tact. It is also believed to heighten creativity.
