    Product Description

    Oval shaped chatoyant purple semi precious gemstone Charoite matched pair designer cabochons 18 mm by 13 mm and 5 mm thick.  

    These are backed with a thin layer of plastic for stability.

    Charoite is a silicate mineral that is a rare, bright, firey purple with white, gray and black veining. 

    The Russians first discovered Charoite in 1947, but it didn't really appear on the lapidary market until the late 1970's.

    Charoite is found in only one location, the Sakha Republic in Siberia, Russia. It is named after the nearby Chara River.
